Laurence Masson specializes in significant commercial trials which emphasize his experience in intellectual property and antitrust matters. Mr. Masson graduated with a B.A. cum laude in Economics from Princeton University and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. Following graduation from law school, he served as a law clerk to a senior judge with the United States Court of Claims who also sat by designation on the Seventh, Eighth, and Tenth United States Court of Appeals.
Mr. Masson has a prestigious background in the field of antitrust law. He was Staff Attorney within the Bureau of Competition of the Federal Trade Commission in Washington where he investigated, prosecuted, and tried antitrust cases. Thereafter, he served as the Senior Trial Attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s Regional Office in San Francisco and then was appointed the Acting Director of the F.T.C.’s Regional Office in Seattle where he managed a staff of fifteen attorneys and seventeen other legal professionals.
Mr. Masson practices law in Berkeley, California, is a member of the State Bar of California and the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, and has been recognized for the magnitude of his legal settlements by The Recorder, a journal that reports on significant settlements of lawsuits in California.
